After you have made 10 posts to the site, you are allowed to upload and select an avatar for your account. Do this by clicking on "View account", then click the "Avatar" button. Here you can upload and select an avatar.

There is a checkbox near the bottom of the form when posting or replying that allows you to post anonymously. This way, no one will know it was you who posted. However, users who have enabled email notification of new posts may immediately visit the website when the post is made. If you wish to remain anonymous, be sure to log out immediately after posting so that those visitors who immediately check the new posting do not see you logged in, thus revealing your identity.

The site was receiving too many automated spam posts to sift through when posting was allowed without logging in. Sorry, this is just the way it is now.

You must log in to your account to post to the forum. Then you will have a button on each Forum page for creating a new topic, or replying when you are viewing a topic.

There is a check box at the bottom of the page when viewing forum pages that allows you to subscribe to notification. (you must be logged in for this) By default, notification will be sent to your account on the site (viewable when you log in). If you want to receive an email whenever there is a new post, you need to change that option by clicking on the "Edit Account" link on the left, and changing the "Notification Method" value to Email.
